The Artists space

"The word theatre comes from the Greeks.  It means the seeing place.

It is the place people come to see the truth about life and the social situation."
- Stella Adler

ABOUT ME

Emma Fleming is an award-nominated Casting Director, Acting Coach, and Artist Mentor with over a decade of experience across Los Angeles, Melbourne, Sydney, Berlin, Italy, London, and New York. She is a proud member of the Casting Society of America (CSA), the Costume Designers Guild (Local 892), and the National Alliance of Acting Teachers.

Her recent casting work includes CROSSED (written by Garth Ennis, directed by Rob Jabbaz, starring Devin Druid, Ash Santos, Ethan James Romero, Kyla Hee & Bob Morley) and BAD KARAOKE (starring Lexi Underwood, Case Walker & Kat Cunning), both currently in post-production. RATS! screened at Fantasia, CUFF, SIFF, Fantaspoa, Florida Film Festival, and Houston Cinema Arts Festival before launching its theatrical run in early 2025. GG Hawkins’ debut feature I Really Love My Husband premiered at SXSW and screens theatrically in September after a run at Chattanooga. Other credits include The Last Stop in Yuma County (BIFAN, Fantastic Fest, Sitges — winner, Best Feature: Orbita), and The Immaculate Room (Best Film & Best Actor, Mammoth Film Festival).

Emma was nominated for the Casting Guild of Australia’s Achievement in Casting Award for Testament, recognized for its bold approach to diversity and inclusive storytelling. Her follow-up, Matrimony, screened in Melbourne and Los Angeles, with critics calling her work “Melbourne’s new edge.”

As an acting coach and mentor, Emma’s work is driven by a deep commitment to artist empowerment. She sees casting not as gatekeeping, but as world-building — curating ensembles that are emotionally honest, narratively specific, and culturally relevant. She is particularly passionate about developing emerging talent and fostering long-term creative relationships with actors. Her work champions underrepresented voices and embraces vulnerability, complexity, and bold choices on screen.

In addition to her work in film, Emma has served since 2020 as Casting Director and Contributing Creative Producer for Schön! Magazine, including its international arms in China and Switzerland. She casts actors and creatives for print and digital campaigns, short films, and experimental editorials. Highlights include collaborations with Emma Myers, Sadie Sink, Letitia Wright, Jamie Campbell Bower, Aimee Lou Wood, Krysten Ritter, Justice Smith, Juno Temple, Brittany Snow, Wunmi Mosaku, Booboo Stewart, Rose Byrne, and Anna Diop.

Emma is a certified Meisner teacher through the Meisner Institute Los Angeles and has taught the technique for over a decade. Her training spans Alexander Technique, Viewpoints, Uta Hagen, and Chekhov, and in 2023 she became a certified Master Practitioner of the ELI Assessment. As a sought-after performance coach, she works with actors, directors, and creatives at all stages of their careers — helping them unlock emotional access, build confidence, and strengthen their unique artistic voice.

Her mission is simple: to help artists feel seen, heard, and fully expressed — not just in performance, but in the world.
